This is our last study week for “Seminar in Contemporary Issues in Curriculum and Instruction”. I enjoyed 15 weeks with many very excellent friends and Dr Andy .If let me say how many booklore I got ,may be I can not answer .But ,I got more important things ,that is broad the field of vision for education ,real education in the life . I enjoyed learning with friends they are having different educational background ,their taken to their outstanding points of view and share /communicate with others .communication and share even culture shock Developed our scope of thinking ,and way of thinking .
Applications : 1,reflection is a very useful method in the education ,can promote students review the knowledge on time and thinking more . For teachers ,this method help evaluate students’ achievement, let we know weather students understand or not .for students ,also ,can evaluate self ,and make self learn more ,think more .so ,in the future ,I will utilize in my teaching . 2,presentation (group work )engage students into learning more dig deep in for learning .even developing students’ sense of responsibility. Promoting think activity . I will require my students take presentation in my teaching to develop their thinking , expressing and Pursuing Success abilities . 3, application ,this is the one of ultimate goals of learning. How to apply the theory or booklore into the real practice and improve students are the significance things for a teacher . In the future ,I will emphasize foster students’ application ability .
It was so meaningful lesson on last Tuesday. Dr. Andy started the lesson by asking simple questions including nice rewards. This was a useful way for warming up the atmosphere of the class in order to draw our attention. When we felt at our ease, the teacher guided us to main points of the content of learning time. This was an effective psychological lesson that I will put it into action not only in teaching, also in daily communication and relationship with others.
First, Dr. Andy presented the way of taking final exam by his clear explanation that made me feel comfortable instead of being tense. Besides, Dr. Andy illustrated examples to help me understand the way of doing my exam as better as possible.
Second, I was led into the core points that he told us at the beginning of the course - on the first two weeks of the course. For example, you cannot remember all things you have learned. You should remember what you interest and you can apply it into several specific situations. Beside, my classmates’ questions and answers recalled partly what I have learned in this semester. I really appreciate their thoughts and sharing.
Finally, He suggested us to do the exam in the sense of presentation of knowledge. I should present what I have known to learners not to the teacher who is teaching you. You imagine the situation where you are a teacher to deliver knowledge to learners. Therefore, what should you teach? How can you instruct a lesson? That is what I need to focus on and I hope that I will do well.
This is for my last reflection for this class. I've learned alot from all of my classmates, I think presenting helped the learning process as well. From what I learned in the class I will apply myself in the following ways.
1. Continue to find engaging ways to teach students.
2. Understand the variety of human abilities and the different methods used to teach others.
3. Always continue to learn, even if its from my students.
